Kirby's knowledge and expertise is greatly appreciated. Sharing this information gives clarification to the importance of sanitation and disinfection. It encourages our industry to respect and appreciate these regulations enforced by the boards to protect not only the consumer but our industry as well. There is a great responsibility on our part to follow these regulations to protect our clients and ourselves. The liablities that are associated with the lack of attention to these procedures not only jeopardize our careers but also the integrity of our industry. Thank you Kirby for this great information.

Enter your comments...Great job as usual Kirby. It's nice to know that we are teaching the elementary basics which everyone needs. It's amazing to me the amount of new students that have gone to a salon to have a pedicure or nail enhancements done and the salon is NOT following proper infection control procedures. SCARY huh! Thanks for the review. We already teach those basics in our nail technology school.

Great information, well presented. The protection of the public is the responsibility of the State Boards and Regulatory Agencies, but also the responsiblity of the professionals. The trick is to remember that those in the profession are part of the Public as well.

Great Job!!! Kirby has worked with me and the Wyoming Board of Cosmetology for 10 years and he has taken on the issues of every state to help move the industry into a safe and great profession. Go Kirby:)

This is great and I wish all consumer could see this!!
Kirby says
Hey Scissorboy viewers! Thanks for the supportive comments. I am so glad that so many of you actually care about this type of topic. There are 4.3 millions of us licensed in the Barber & Cosmetology Fields today in the USA and we have to help the regulators keep up to date and on top of what is happening in our industry. Try to read your states board minutes and if at all possible go to a meeting. The governing of our profession can only be as good at the industry pushes for rather than against.

I think this is one of the most important videos I've seen yet. In our industry we've become very lax about sanitation/disinfecting. It was an eye opener for me. Thanks Grant

Ted "REESE" Hollis says
"Excellent" now this is what is needed to be shown in ALL the cosmologies schools across the nation! There needs to be a dedicated sanitation room in each and every salon / school, not just the top of a dryer / washer in the shampoo room! Thank you very much "Scissorboy" and "Diana" for taking the time to come down to earth a bit and educate us about our clients and our safety.
PEACE
Ted

Thank you so much! I just had a meeting with David Kirby, DL Roope, and GA. State Board Members. GA. Barber Board is taking our first DL Roope Administered State Board Exam on Oct. 19th. This is so perfect for me to share with other instructors and all students. I only wish I could download the episode notes.
For me, this is one of the most "valuable" videos I have gotten from Scissorboy, to date. Thank you so much, Grant.
